Temporary Full Time School Nurse – Northbrook District 28

2024-2025 Temporary School Nurse (Full-Time) for Maternity Leave from 4/7/2025 to 6/3/2025 at Northbrook Junior High

Qualifications & Licensure
Registered Nurse; Professional Educator License with School Nurse Endorsement (preferred); Certified as a Vision and Hearing Screening Technician (preferred)

Reports to: 
Building-Level Administrators (Principal. Assistant Principal, and Assistant Director)

Performance Responsibilities:
•    Demonstrate the ability to assess, problem solve, and provide care in the moment in the best interest of students and staff
•    Provide care in accordance with professional standards, district policies and procedures, and state and local mandates
•    Deliver treatment and dispense medication in accordance with health care needs as prescribed and/or identified in a student’s health care or Section
504 Plan
•    Maintain accurate and up-to-date health records
•    Maintain confidentiality
•    Maintain and report necessary documentation with the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) and the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE)
•    Contact parents/guardians as needed in the event of injury, illness, or student need
•    Complete accident reports as needed
•    Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly health office/environment
•    Collaborate with other members of the instructional team (i.e. special education teachers, assistants, related service staff, general education teachers,
administrators, etc.)
•    Serve as a case manager for students with medically-based Section 504 plans
•    Maintain communication with school personnel and parents/guardians in support of students’ health, safety, and well-being

Terms of Employment: 
Temporary Position; salary and benefits as determined annually by the District 28 Board of Education
